Hello everyone! This is Nancy, and I thought this is a great opportunity to share a bit more about myself. Some of you may know me from my previous blog. I’m still the same person as I was before but might as well have content about myself on this site. I have been blogging consistently for over 12 years; the blogging world has changed so much over time. I’m willing to adapt to the times while still incorporating the personal factor into my work. I’ll still share how you can have a great time in Los Angeles within 24 hours, but from my own perspective, share hidden gems from my own findings.
Many people know I’m passionate about my career in cybersecurity. My interest in this field started about 10 years ago when I was still in high school. My journey has been worthwhile, from learning the basics of IT, to giving technical cybersecurity recommendations. I always go above and beyond in my role, from being a mentor to interns through our internship program to creating and leading a program that identifies risks in the environment.
Over the years, I learned that buying something I really want upfront is better than buying a ton of things I thought would be just as good. This taught me a lesson about money too, about how I’d end up spending more money than I would have in the first place. At the same time, I learned to be content with what I have instead of wanting more. There may be times when money is tight. The decision between waiting or picking one cheaper alternative can be tough. Just don’t go overboard – the same goes for when money isn’t as tight. Take care of your own happiness. There are many approaches to minimalism. This is one of the ways I approach minimalism from my perspective.
I love hands-on activities. This includes cooking and plating delicious meals (the more Michelin-star like, the better), playing games, art, and all of that good stuff. If you ask me about my makeup collection, I’ll rave about my Chanel stash, except I’d have one of each item at most. I’m also the type of person who loves listening to trap music while running scripts at work. PS. I love handbags for some reason.
My ideal day would consist of waking up early in the morning and having a nice vanilla sweet cream cold brew. Knock out all of the things on my to-do list, get a good exercise in, and cooking some healthy meals. I’m a simple person, but I do like the good things in life.
Thanks for sticking around! Feel free to send me some questions for a future Q&A!
Hi Nancy! I just started a new blog myself, so that’s something in common. Your job sounds absolutely fascinating!
I absolutely love how interesting your job field sounds! Cyber security is so cool. Thanks for sharing this Nancy x
I love this and I love get to know me posts!
Love, Amie ❤

I always find it so interesting to see how people think of themselves. When I am asked to name my best and worst qualities, I always want to downplay what I can do and up-play what I cannot do, since there is an idea floating about that modesty is better than being honest.
I loved seeing what your good day looks like; a vanilla sweet cream cold brew sounds positively delicious!
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
It’s always nice to get to know bloggers. You do sound like an interesting person. Your job sounds so cool too. I didn’t know you have been blogging for over 12 years. I started my blog about 1 and a half month ago lol and I discovered mdrnminimalist during that 1 and a half months. I didn’t know you had a blog before mdrnminimalist but I found out few weeks ago.
You guys should totally do some food posts – what you typically make at home within a week or your favourite dish to make when you have the time! Can’t wait for the vlogs! xx Have a lovely weekend xx

Looking forward to reading more.
Love this getting to know post! It very much you and how I got to know you through the blogging space 🙂 I resonate with how you go for quality instead of quantity with the things in life. It’s better to have something that will last for a longer time instead of having lots of things that won’t last as long. Thank you for sharing with us!

What a lovely post! It was so nice reading and learning more about you xx
Very interesting to read about you! Thanks for sharing!
Yes… you have a really cool job, Nancy! I am struggling with my blog’s technical side, so I think it’s great that you know the basics of IT and Cybersecurity. I’m trying to be more of a “minimalist” this year too. I think it’s a great idea not to buy a ton of “good enough” things and really get something you truly love. I’m thinking of trying a few products from Chanel. What are your top 3 Chanel makeup favorites?
It’s the first time I read your blog and it’s always great to learn about who is behind it! Your job sounds very interesting! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hey, Nancy! The last part of the post though. Seem like you have a lot of fun activities and stuff to do which is amazing.
It’s amazing to see how much the world of blogging has changed over the years, isn’t it? I am a firm believer that those who succeed are the individuals who are willing to learn and adapt. I always loved hearing about your job on the last blog. I would love to learn a little more about what sparked your interest in cyber security!
Your ideal day sounds pretty good, honestly! Although I’d switch out the cold brew for a tea like an oolong or a silver needle white. Sounds perfect!
It’s great to know you, Nancy! Wow, blogging for 12 years! I’m curious to know how it has changed, maybe it can be your next post? 🙂
I love hearing people say they’re passionate about their jobs, it just motivates me to really find my passion (or let it come to me, whichever works). So great you wrote a post about yourself!

Cyber security is something I’ve always been fascinated by – would you consider doing a future post on how you got into this career and the possible routes in? Loving the sound of a vanilla sweet cream cold brew in the mornings too!
It’s always nice to read information about my fellow bloggers! You’ve certainly been blogging a long time and I always appreciate your blog’s content.
Hey Nancy! I always love reading about the blogger behind the blog. A vanilla sweet cream cold brew is my go-to drink as well! Thanks for sharing a bit about you x

This was such a fun way to get to know you better Nancy! That is amazing that you’ve been blogging for 12 years. I can’t imagine how much the blogging world has changed since you started blogging. I love that your approach to minimalism is a lifestyle for you that stretches across finances, belongings, etc. I have been trying to be more mindful about the things I buy by purchasing things that are meaningful to me. This was such a great post!

I really enjoyed reading this post and it has been great getting to know you, things I would like to ask is why IT? why not fashion or say writing? I would also like to ask was your partner a blogger/writer? and what part does he take in the blog? Keep up the great work and best wishes always
I admire that you’re putting yourself out there. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing, Nancy.
That vanilla sweet cream cold brew does sound like the ideal way to start a day. I have really enjoyed following your blogs for some time now, and all of the ideas and tips you share!!
It’s always interesting to see what others have to say about themselves, I never know what to say when I’m asked about myself. It feels like too much pressure and play things down 😂. Your job always sounds so interesting.
Nice getting to know you. I didn’t know you’re a cyber security senior specialist.
This is so interesting to learn more about you.
Your job sounds fascinating.

Nice to e-meet you, Nancy! That sounds like a neat career to be in and that’s how I feel about minimalism. I’ve learned to appreciate what I have and it’s saved me a lot of money in the long run despite being a shopaholic. x
Great to meet you, Nancy! I also am a simple person who loves the good things in life. Question for your future Q&A maybe? What exactly inspired you to be a Cybersecurity Senior Specialist? ☺️
Lovely post Nancy! It’s always nice to get to the people behind the blog. I’ve always enjoyed reading about your career from your previous blog, it does sound very interesting! I work in IT as well and it definitely can be super interesting at times. I’m trying to get more healthy when it comes to what food I eat, what’s one of your favourite meals to make for dinner? x
Cybersecurity sounds super interesting! I’ll have to read up on internships in the field as it sounds like something I’d love. I loved learning a little bit more about you through this post x
Your job sounds cool! Loved reading about you.

I love these types of posts! Always think it’s great getting to know the person behind the blog, you’re job sounds so interesting as well! I’m glad you have something you really enjoy, that can be quite rare!
What a nice post Nancy! I also only have one item of each in the makeup arena, and I do prefer to buy one thing with high quality than ten cheap ones. Hope you’re having a lovely week 🙂

I think that is right like there are many approaches to minimalism as you said and one person’s way is not the next, and that is okay. Since, I think that a lot of people see it because of popular culture as the tiny house thing, or only owning 10 items of clothing. Which is great and fine but not every can and wants to do that. Thanks for sharing about you! 🙂
It’s very nice to meet you better.
Nice to meet you Nancy 🙂 it was a pleasure to discover your blog and ramble around your post!! cheers from Lisbon 🙂 PedroL
