Happy Summer! We can’t believe that we’re already halfway through the year. How are your goals doing? How is your mental health? We’ve been hanging on, through the different phases of the pandemic. We hope the rates will continue to go down despite different variants of the virus out there. The best we can do is make sure we and those around us take proper precautions.
Summer is amazing in Los Angeles; the weather is great and there are plenty of activities to do. Last month, we celebrated Nancy’s birthday at Alexander’s Steakhouse in Pasadena, and had the most amazing Japanese Wagyu steaks. We’re used to the 14oz+ American steaks, but with Japanese steak, 3oz hits the spot. We had an amazing experience and got to try out several menu options including the Shiga Ohmi Wagyu Tartare.
Going through another year in life makes us realize how much we’ve accomplished over the years. This includes being able to reflect on the challenges you’ve overcome or how they shaped you into who you are today. Life is too short to not pursue your dreams. It’s important that while we feel fulfillment in our careers, we have the balance in our everyday lives outside of work too.
We took advantage of the start of the summer season by hitting up the beach! California’s coastal beaches are not on par with Hawaii’s beaches, but they’re still relaxing to visit. We made a point of making the beach trip simple; bring the minimal and having a great time. We brought a beach umbrella, a beach blanket, and a cooler for our beverages.
We also got to partner with Tesalate (AD) for their amazing beach and workout towels! Tesalate is known for its sand-free, super absorbent, and fast-drying towels. They’re versatile, whether you want to use the towels for workouts, beach, home accessories, or anything you can think of.
We utilized the towels for a couple of different purposes. We brought the workout towel out as a mini beach towel to lay on. It’s a great secondary layer if sand keeps getting on the main beach blanket. It’s easy to keep them dry and sand-free as well!
We moved our sticker shop to its own domain, xmdrn.com. Although we had huge success with Etsy, we felt like we had to charge more because of the Etsy fees. Now that we’re on our own platform, we can pass the savings to the customers. We’re experimenting with a couple of different packaging options. We’ve been using wax papers for the longest to protect stickers during transport, we found the protective sleeve to have a better aesthetic vibe. We took advantage of the Tesalate beach towel as a nice spread for the flat lay picture.
